It is with profound sadness that the chess community learns of the unexpected passing of American Grandmaster Daniel Naroditsky (born November 9, 1995 – died October 19/20, 2025). His family announced the news through the Charlotte Chess Center in North Carolina, describing his death as sudden.
Rising Star Cut Short
Naroditsky became a Grandmaster in 2013 and during his brief career became widely admired not just for his playing strength but also for his contributions as a commentator, educator, and streamer.
His family’s statement reads in part:
The cause of death has not been publicly disclosed and the family has requested privacy.
